CWG Day 7: Sindhu to begin campaign

Ace Indian shutter P. V. Sindhu, who has been declared fit to play after suffering an ankle strain, will begin her 2018 Commonwealth Games campaign on Wednesday.

P. V. Sindhu did not feature in the mixed team event as she continued to nurse her ankle injury. She begins her campaign on Wednesday against Fiji's Andra Whiteside.

Ace Indian shutter P. V. Sindhu, who has been declared fit to play after suffering an ankle strain , will be seen in action on Wednesday as she begins her campaign with a round-of-32 clash against Fiji's Andra Whiteside. Meanwhile, Tejaswin Shankar will have a shot at a podium finish when he participates in the finals of the men's high jump event at 3.35 PM.

It will be a busy day in the boxing department as Mary Kom, who is already assured of a medal, will take on Sri Lanka's Anusha Dirukshi and hope to make her way into the final as she bids for her first Commonwealth medal. Other Indian pugilists, including Sarita Devi, Gaurav Solanki and Vikas Krishnan, will engage in their respective quarterfinal bouts.

The Indian table tennis stars, who won the gold in both the women's and men's team events, will be seen in action as they begin their singles and mixed doubles campaigns.
