Abhimanyu Mithun became the first Karnataka bowler to pick a hat-trick as Karnataka bowled out Tamil Nadu for 252 in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Mithun achieved the feat on his 30th birthday as he dismissed Shahrukh Khan, M Mohammed and Murugan Ashwin to not only pick a hat-trick but also a five-wicket haul.

Mithun ended with bowling figures 9.5-0-34-5.

Bowling the last over in the first innings, Mithun bowled an excellent over and in the third delivery, the fast bowler removed Shahrukh Khan who was caught by Manish Pandey at long-off.

The next delivery, M Mohammed went for a slice but was caught brilliantly by Devdutt Padikkal at the deep.

Murugan Ashwin facing the hat-trick ball went after a slower one and Krishnappa Gowtham at extra cover took a simple catch as the Karnataka dug-out erupted in joy.

Neither Tamil Nadu nor Karnataka has ever lost a Vijay Hazare final.
