In a joint press conference held by Board of Control of Cricket in India and Afghanistan Cricket Board on Tuesday, it was decided that the one-off Test will be held in Bengaluru. With most of the venues across the country not feasible due to possible monsoon showers in June, the BCCI has named Chinnaswamy Stadium as the venue.

Sportstar was the first to report that the Test would be held in June before India's Tour to England.

Earlier today, ACB chairman Shukrullah Atif Mashal told Sportstar , "I am really delighted. We are playing our first Test in India. The relationship between the two countries goes back to centuries, and now, cricket has also added to this relationship. I am sure that cricket will play a greater role in strengthening relations."
