India's Ajinkya Rahane found some form for Hampshire with a fifty against Somerset in the Division 1 of the County Championship at Taunton on Monday. In his previous outing, Rahane was dismissed for a pair of ducks lasting just three balls against Essex.

Walking in at number three after the fall of Oliver Soames in the second over, Rahane struck a 112-ball 55 to revive Hampshire's innings in response to Somerset's 408. He put on a 101-run stand for the third wicket with Sam Northeast before being dismissed by Jack Leach.

Rahane's Test teammate Ravichandran Ashwin is in action for Nottinghamshire against Essex in a concurrent match.
