First two fixtures of Quadrangular series called off

The first two fixtures of the quadrangular series — featuring India A, India B, South Africa A and Australia A — has been called off due to heavy rain at Mulapadu in Vijaywada.

The match officials, in consultation with the ground curator S. Sriram reached a consensus that the ground conditions were not suitable for the next two days in view of heavy rains at Mulapadu, venue of the Quadrangular Series one-day cricket championship, scheduled to begin on Friday.

Consequently, the matches scheduled on August 17 and 18 (reserve day) which were scheduled to take place between India A and Australia A, India B and South Africa A had to be called off, according to a BCCI media release late tonight.

“The concerned team managements have been informed of the same and are on the same page as the match officials. The rest of the fixtures will continue as per schedule from August 19,” it is informed
