For Dravid, old habits die hard!

On Friday afternoon, as the India A cricketers flocked around him in the nets, Dravid was all smiles, curating a small chat in the team huddle.

Rahul Dravid has had a good run as India A coach.

In his prime, Rahul Dravid thwarted opposition bowlers and churned out runs with the luxury of a man who knew time was on his side.  There was very little that was flamboyant about him — he struggled and stonewalling challenges is what defined his cricket. He was at once a bastion and the knight!

On Friday afternoon, as the India A cricketers flocked around him in the nets, Dravid was all smiles, curating a small chat in the team huddle.

He is enjoying his stint as a coach — you could tell from the nonchalance with which he surveyed the field. He doesn't have to weigh the risk of shouldering arms or battle the anxiety of getting his country to safe waters anymore.

And yet, as the players hit their strides with the support staff giving throw-downs to the batsmen and bowlers marking their run up, there he was, positioning himself correctly in the middle of the two nets, closely watching his wards on both sides.
