Bairstow struck a 99-ball 90 against Afghanistan.

England's gargantuan total of 397 in the first innings of the World Cup 2019 fixture against Afghanistan triggered an online banter between Indian Premier League teams Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday.

Opener Jonny Bairstow, after a patient start, hit a 99-ball 90 including eight fours and three sixes and SRH -- the team Bairstow represents in the IPL -- was quick to doff its hat to one of its won. The team's twitter handle wrote, "With a 99-ball 90, Bairstow was so close to his maiden World Cup century! A brilliant knock nevertheless"."

However, it was a day of mixed emotions with Afghanistan spinner, Rashid Khan, another SRH cricketer, recorded the worst figures by a bowler in the history of the World Cup. The leggie went for 110 in nine overs. And CSK, the runner-up in this edition of the IPL, was quick to latch on to the bandwagon.

Suffice to say, with the IPL now over, the teams are now making the most of cricket's showpiece event in England.
