Ravindra Jadeja on Wednesday took a dig at former India player turned commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar, with a strongly-worded tweet.
Jadeja did not specify the context, but Manjrekar has been vocal about the all-rounder's chances of making it Team India's playing XI in the ongoing World Cup 2019.
"I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner," Manjrekar was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
Jadeja hit out on Twitter, saying he had played more matches than Manjrekar and was still active. He tagged Manjrekar in his tweet and urged him to learn to respect people. Jadeja ended his tweet on a strong note, stating he had "heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea".
Jadeja's tweet quickly caught the eye of cricket fans, who weighed in with their comments.
Jadeja is yet to get a game in World Cup 2019, but has regularly come on as a substitute to great effect.
India has qualified for the semifinal with a game in hand. Virat Kolhi and Co. take on Sri Lanka in the final league fixture on Saturday.
