A not so happy Virat Kohli walks back after being given out leg before.

India would have been happy to restrict New Zealand to 239/8 when the first semifinal resumed on the reserve day on Wednesday.

But on a tricky slow-paced wicket the run-chase won't have been easy and it proved right when Matt Henry and Trent Boult struck early with the wickets of Rohit Sharma (1), Virat Kohli (1) and K.L. Rahul (1).

Henry removed Rohit in the second over when the in-form Indian opener got a faint nick to the wicketkeeper. Next to go was Kohli, when he was trapped leg before by a sharp inswinger. Rahul then departed next over when he edged one to Tom Latham behind the wickets to leave India stuttering at 5-3 in 3.1 overs.

On Tuesday, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat and were sluggish throughout until rain stopped play and suspended with the Kiwis on 211/5 in 46.1 overs.
