The dream run for Virat Kohli continued as he became the third Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar and Navjot Sidhu to score four successive half-centuries in World Cup history.
He reached the milestone during India's match against the West Indies at Old Trafford on Thursday. The batting legend Tendulkar has done it twice in 1996 and 2003 while Sidhu in the 1987 edition of the World Cup.
Kohli also became the third captain in world Cup history to register four back-to-back fifty-plus scores after Graeme Smith (2007) and Aaron Finch (2019*).
Earlier, after opting to bat, the India captain surpassed Tendulkar and Brian Lara to become the quickest to 20,000 international runs.
