Medium pacer, Navdeep Saini, who has been named as a standby for India’s World Cup-bound squad, is looking forward to the tournament -- which begins in England from May 30.
Saini is one of the four bowlers who will be touring with the side to assist the players and he is making the best use of his Indian Premier League stint with the Royal Challengers Bangalore to keep himself ready for the challenge.

Fortunate to have the company of India captain Virat Kohli and RCB bowling coach Ashish Nehra during the IPL, Saini is focusing on nets sessions to be on top of his game. “We talk during the matches but the most important thing is to pay full attention at the nets. If you do well at the nets, you will do well in a match as well,” said Saini following his team's grudge win over Kolkata Knight Riders here on Friday.
The 26-year-old got reassured about his trade after having a chat with famous South African team-mate Dale Steyn. “I had a discussion with him on the eve of the match. He just told me to bowl the same way and not to try anything different.”
Asked whether he is ready for the World Cup, Saini said, “Absolutely. The confidence of doing well in IPL will give me a big boost. If I get a chance in World Cup, I hope to do well.”
About his rise from domestic cricket, the Saini said, “My dad always asks me to give my 110 per cent. I am putting in that extra effort always in practice sessions as well as in a match.”
