BCCI president Sourav Ganguly will reach Rajkot on Thursday morning.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly, now the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will attend the second T20I between India and Bangladesh in Rajkot on Thursday.

Sources in the BCCI have confirmed that Ganguly will reach Rajkot on Thursday morning.

“Sourav is supposed to come. That’s what we have been informed. We are looking forward to welcoming him,” Saurashtra Cricket Association chief Jaydev Shah told Sportstar .

Ganguly was scheduled to be in Mumbai this week for a series of meetings at the BCCI headquarters, but now it will be delayed. “Eden Gardens is set to host the first-ever day-night Test match, a lot of work is left in Kolkata as well. So he might travel to Mumbai sometime next week,” one of the BCCI officials said.

With Cyclone Maha expected to make landfall in Gujarat on Thursday, it needs to be seen whether the game goes per schedule. Rajkot received heavy rainfall on Wednesday evening.

The Saurashtra Cricket Association is confident of putting up a successful show in the presence of the BCCI president.
