Bangladesh made its Test debut at home against India in 2000. Sixteen years later, it will face the same opposition for the first time in an away game when the sides meet in Hyderabad from Thursday. Although Bangladesh has toured India in 1990, 1998, 2006 and 2016, it has never played a Test in the country.

It took 33 matches before Bangladesh could get its first Test win. There were 30 defeats, including 21 innings defeats, before that. But Bangladesh is a vastly improved side now. Five of its eight Test wins have come after the dawn of this decade. Sure, four of it were against Zimbabwe, but its latest — against England — was its sweetest. It was Bangladesh's first win over a premier Test side. But on February 9, when it meets the No. 1 Test side, India, the challenge will be monumental.

India, over the last two years, has been brushing aside opponents at home. And, needless to say, it's the firm favourite against Bangladesh. Ahead of the clash, we take a look at some of the key numbers.

0 — The number of Bangladesh's wins in eight Tests against India.

5 — Sachin Tendulkar's hundreds — the most in India-Bangladesh Tests.

18 — The number of Tests India has been unbeaten since its loss against Sri Lanka in August 2015.

31 — Zaheer Khan's tally and he leads the wicket-takers' list in India-Bangladesh Tests.

91 — The total Bangladesh collapsed for in its second innings of its debut Test. This is the lowest innings total in matches involving both the sides.

248* — Tendulkar's career best score is also the highest individual score in matches involving both the nations.

656 — What India amassed in Chittagong in January 2010. It's the highest team total in matches involving both the teams.

820 — The number of runs scored by Tendulkar against Bangladesh: the most by a player in India-Bangladesh Tests.
