Buoyant India, after registering a convincing win in the first match, will be keen to keep the momentum going when it meets West Indies in the second match at Mulapadu cricket playfield here on Sunday.

India will aim to win all the three matches to improve its points’ position to qualify for 2017 ICC World Cup. As per International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings, West Indies women’s team is the third position and India is placed at six.

Spinners the key

As the Mulapadu pitch is assisting the spinners’ well, India will continue to depend on the spinning-trio — Ekta, Rajeshwari and Deepti. However, the poor form of the openers is a worry for the both skipper Mithali Raj and coach Purnima Rau.

“West Indies will come back strong. They will comeback with vengeance, but we are prepared. We lost a few quick wickets with irresponsible shots The players should to train their minds and make sure that they play more responsible innings. They should also try to play straight."

Meanwhile Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is making all necessary arrangements for the spectators who came in good number on Thursday. “As it is a Sunday, we are expecting more spectators. We will be pitching more tents for the benefit of the spectators,” said KDCA secretary A Yellarao.
