Pakistan's pace attack will pose a greater threat against New Zealand with the inclusion of Mohammad Amir, according to Wahab Riaz.

Amir was recalled to the international setup for the tour after serving a five-year ban for his involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal.

His return for the three Twenty20 matches and three one-day internationals saw Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali initially walk out of the pre-tour training camp, although both returned after discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Wahab has hailed the 23-year-old's return after impressing in the Bangladesh Premier League, and believes the swing and seam movement he provides will strengthen Pakistan's bowling unit.

"Amir is a great introduction to the team," Wahab said. "He's getting a chance. He's a great fast bowler - he's proved that in the past. It's time for him to prove it here as well. And he will prove it.

"With him there's less pressure on me as a bowler, because I'm getting his support. Amir is a good inswing bowler, bowling with the new ball. He can bowl outswing as well. If you can take wickets with the new ball the pressure will always be on the batsmen.

"What I'm saying is that him coming into the team will help us more," added Wahab.
