Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to its third IPL title on Sunday.

After successfully guiding Chennai Super Kings to a third Indian Premier League title on Sunday night, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni delved into the importance of the date of the final.

"Every win is special, so I can't compare this with our other wins. Lot of people talk about numbers, statistics, so tonight's 27th, my jersey number is 7, and this was our seventh final," remarked Dhoni in the post-match presentation. Incidentally, Dhoni celebrates his birthday on the seventh day of the seventh month, July!

He went on to shower praise on the batsmen. "I thought it was a great batting effort tonight. You have to keep in mind that Bhuvi is as deceptive as Rashid, so it's not only one bowler in their side that could've put pressure on us. We always had the belief that we had the firepower in the middle overs," he said.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni broke the record for most number of stumpings in the Indian Premier League on Sunday.

When asked if 30 was a magical number for CSK, given that the side has many senior players, Dhoni quipped, "We talk a lot about age, but what's more important is the fitness. Rayudu is 33 but he covers good ground and doesn't turn up the next day saying he's stiff. That's what more matters than age. Most captains want players who move well on the field and doesn't matter if you're 19-20 years old. Age is just a number, but you have to be very fit."
