This season, Eden Gardens hosted nine games, including the two playoffs originally slated to be held in Pune.

Kolkata Knight Riders may have missed out on the final berth but its home venue, the hallowed Eden Gardens, was voted as the best ground in IPL 2018.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly took to Twitter to make the announcement.

“The CAB is happy to inform that Eden Gardens has once again been awarded the best venue and ground of IPL 2018,” the Cricket Association of Bengal president said.

This season, Eden Gardens hosted nine games, including the two playoffs originally slated to be held in Pune. The Eliminator and the second Qualifier were moved to Kolkata after the Cauvery water dispute forced the BCCI to shift Chennai Super Kings' remaining home games to Pune.

“The CAB takes this opportunity to thank all who have contributed to this success beginning with the ground staff, BCCI and ICC,” Ganguly added.

CAB joint secretary Avishek Dalmiya too expressed his gratitude to all the fans.

“Eden Gardens is what it is because of the cricket loving people of the state, so many thanks to them for being such a great crowd.”
