New Zealand spinner Nathan McCullum will retire from international cricket at the end of the season. The 35-year-old, elder brother of New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, has played 84 One-Day Internationals and 61 Twenty20 internationals for his country, having made his debut in 2007.

McCullum is yet to make a decision about his future at domestic level, reported cricket.com.au. McCullum said it is the right time to end his international career so he can spend more time with his family. “I don’t want to make a big song and dance about it, but it’s time to start thinking about the next phase of my life. I’ve got the sense that the end of this season is the right time to call it quits in international cricket,” McCullum was quoted as saying by New Zealand Herald on Friday.

New Zealand play limited-overs matches against Australia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the next four months.
