Non-responsive State associations put BCCI in a spot

The Board had sent out a mail on Republic Day (Thursday), asking its 31 full members to suggest three eligible names to be forwarded to the Supreme Court by Friday.

The BCCI has asked its full members to send in their suggestions on who should represent the Board at the ICC meeting.

The BCCI was left to fend for itself after its mail to State associations seeking suggestions for eligible names to represent the Board at ICC conference received lacklustre response.

The Board had sent out a mail on Republic Day (Thursday), asking its 31 full members to >suggest three eligible names to be forwarded to the Supreme Court by Friday. The members were asked to suggest the names by 10pm on Thursday, but many failed to respond. A BCCI insider, tracking the developments on Friday, said: "This is not good. The Supreme Court had asked the BCCI to suggest names and this is what some people have done.’’

The apex court had said it will pick one among the three as BCCI’s representative for the quarterly ICC Board meeting to be held in Dubai in the first week of February.
