Goa vs Kerala: Goa wins by seven wickets. Ishaan Gadekar finishes the match in style smashing Jalaj over midwicket for six. Ishaan anchored the chase with an unbeaten 67. Lad lent solid support with an unbeaten 33. The fourth wicket pair of Ishaan and Lad added 68 runs.
Tamil Nadu vs Mumbai: Vijay Shankar made the most of a reprieve to score a century as Tamil Nadu reached 495 for 4 at lunch on the final day. Forging a 214-run partnership with Pradosh Ranjan Paul, who remained unbeaten on 165, Vijay ensured that the visiting side took a 158-run lead as Mumbai struggled to find breakthroughs.
Starting the day at 380 for 4, Paul and Vijay were in no hurry to score runs and took their time before hitting a few boundaries. As the surface flattened, Mumbai lost an opportunity as Vijay, who was batting on 61 then, was dropped by Mohit Avasthi at third man. As the bowler Mohit Avasthi looked dejected, the Mumbai team-mates tried comforting Avasthi, but with the visiting side looking determined, they could not find a headway.
Last evening, Tamil Nadu captain Baba Indrajith said, “If we can bat till lunch, depending on where we are, we can take a call on an outright win.” With two more sessions to go, it would be interesting to see what strategy Tamil Nadu adopts.
Tamil Nadu vs Mumbai: Pradosh Ranjan Paul falls for a brilliant 169 as Vijay Shankar too hits a century off 174 deliveries. Shahrukh Khan and R Sai Kishore are out in the middle with Tamil Nadu crossing the 500-run mark with a lead of 171 runs.
Kerala vs Goa: Chasing 155, Goa reaches 68/2 at lunch. Openers Ishaan and Amogh rode their luck to add 36 runs for the first wicket. Kerala hit back with two wickets but Goa batters have generally played the spinners well.
Kerala vs Goa: Off-spinner Mohit Redkar claims three wickets that fell in the morning to reduce Kerala to 182/9. He was on a hat-trick after cleaning up Rohan Prem(70) and Basil Thampi (0) off successive balls. N. P. Basil prevented the hat trick. Kerala190/9. Darshan rearranges Vaiskh’s stumps, Kerala all out for 200 leaving Goa a target of 155. N. P. Basil slogged Mohit for two sixes to prop up the total. Mohit finishes with figures of 6/73.
Tamil Nadu vs Mumbai: Pradosh Ranjan Paul has scored a brilliant century and along with Vijay Shankar has kept Mumbai at bay. The duo has forged an unbeaten 161-run stand with Vijay Shankar batting unbeaten on 73.
