India’s women’s team suffered a blow on Tuesday as Smriti Mandhana was ruled out of the ODI series against South Africa after she suffered a toe injury during a practice session, a couple of days ago.

While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to officially name a replacement, well-placed sources in the Board have confirmed to Sportstar that Pooja Vastrakar is all set to replace Smriti.

It has been learnt that Smriti has fractured her toe, and could be out of action for a while now. She had a ordinary outing in the T20Is, scoring just 46 runs in four innings.

India will take on South Africa women for three-match ODI series in Vadodara, starting from Wednesday.
