In an unfortunate development for Pakistan cricket, around forty contracted players of Sri Lanka Cricket have given a letter to their country's cricket board indicating that they do not wish to travel to Lahore for the third and final T20 against Pakistan, scheduled for later this month.
According to reports, the letter signed by the entire current squad and contracted players has requested the board to consider a venue change from Lahore.
The Sri Lanka Cricket board will discuss the issue further at its executive committee meeting on Monday.
Pakistan lost out on international cricket after the Sri Lankan team bus came under a terrorist attack in 2009, outisde Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore, injuring several players and support staff.
However, in what was a revival for international cricket in Pakistan, the home team and a World XI team played three T20 matches last month.
