Srinivasan exit: TNCA harps on time factor

Tamil Nadu Cricket Association president N. Srinivasan, 71, may no longer be able to hold any post as a cricket administrator.

“I have not read the order, I cannot react now,” said Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) president and former BCCI chief N. Srinivasan to Sportstar when asked about his reaction to the Supreme Court’s orders on the Lodha panel recommendations.

The Supreme Court on Monday accepted major recommendations of the Lodha Committee on reforms including a bar on those above the age of 70 from becoming members of BCCI and state associations.

TNCA secretary K.S. Viswanathan said the BCCI would have to first implement the Court’s orders on Lodha panel recommendations before the State associations follow suit.

“The Supreme Court has given six months to the BCCI to carry out its order. In its recommendations, the Lodha committee had given the State Associations two years to implement the order. So the State Associations have time.”

He added, “Our lawyers are studying the order. The TNCA will come up with solutions.”
