Young midfielder Amarjit Singh Kiyam has been ruled out of India's World Cup qualifiers against Oman and Qatar after suffering a broken hand in training.

Indian midfielder Amarjit Singh Kiyam has been ruled out for India's World Cup qualifiers against Oman and Qatar due to a broken hand. The player was injured in training, ahead of India's first qualifier game on September 5 in Guwahati against Oman.
Amarjit was part of coach Igor Stimac's 28-member preliminary squad after the Croat released seven players from the 35-member initial squad, last week.
The released players included defenders Salam Ranjan Singh, Anwar Ali (Jr.), Jerry Lalrinzuala, midfielders Pronay Halder, Halicharan Narzary and forwards Farukh Choudhary and Jobby Justin.
India begins its campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2022 against Oman and Qatar on September 5, and 10 respectively.
The match against Oman will held in Guwahati's Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, while the fixture against Qatar will be played in Doha at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
India is placed in Group E alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Oman and Qatar.
