In numbers: Impressive India roll over Thailand in second half

We take a look at some of the numbers which stood out in India's stunning win over Thailand at the AFC Asian Cup.

India defeated Thailand 4-1 in its opening AFC Asian Cup fixture at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Sunil Chhetri, Anirudh Thapa and Jeje Lalpekhlua were among the goals as the Blue Tigers claimed top spot in Group A ahead of favourite UAE and Bahrain.


Here are some statistics from India's historic win over Thailand.

34.8 % - India managed to score four goals despite enjoying less than 35 per cent of the possession.

55 - This was India's first win at the Asian Games in 55 years since the 3-1 win over Hong Kong in 1964 and its biggest victory in terms of margin.

25 - India's starting eleven against Thailand had an average age of 25.

298 - Striker Jeje scored his first goal in 298 days for both club (Chennaiyin FC) and country.

67 - Chhetri became the second highest active international goal-scorer overtaking Argentina's Lionel Messi (65).
