Supporters take part in a rally ahead of East Bengal's centenary celebration day.

East Bengal will complete its Calcutta Football League (CFL) campaign when it faces Calcutta Customs Club at the Kalyani Stadium on October 3.

The two sides were originally scheduled to play at the East Bengal ground on September 29, but poor pitch conditions owing to incessant rains saw the game being potsponed. The Indian Football Association (IFA) has now secured police permission to host the match at the Kalyani Stadium and informed both the clubs on Tuesday that they will lock horns on October 3.

East Bengal has an uphill task ahead as it has to win by a margin of seven goals or more to lift the CFL title. Peerless SC, which currently tops the table, stands to become the first champion other than the city's three starlets - East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting - to win the CFL in 60 years. Eastern Railway, led by the legendary P.K. Banerjee, was the last team outside the famous three to lift the CFL title in 1958.

Peerless SC currently tops the CFL table with 23 points from 11 games (seven wins, two draws and as many losses), while East Bengal has 20 points with a game in hand.
