What a game. From a frustrating 80-odd minutes to finishing 2 goals up, Sweden will be proud of its comeback in this game. There are a lot of pointers to take back to the drawing board but, for now, it will want to savour the win.

Chile has been phenomenal but could not keep up with the sheer brute force of the Swedish team.

Kosovare Asllani is the player of the match.

FT Chile 0 - 2 Sweden The whistle has blown. It's 3 points and a clean sheet for Sweden!

90' +4 AND ANOTHER ONE! MADELEN JANOGY makes it two for Sweden. What a comeback! Halftime strategy paid off for Sweden, Janogy has come good. She beats a tired Toro and slams the ball past Endler.

5 minutes of stoppage time. For the uninitiated, this extra time is due to the Urrutia injury and not the weather delay. One can only imagine how many extra minutes we'd get if we were compensating for that!

Did you know? : This is the third match in the history of the Women's World Cup that has had a break in play. This has been the longest break in play there ever has been though.

Did you know? : Asllani's strike was Sweden's 60th in the Women's World Cup.

83' GOAAAAAAAAL! Endler has finally been beaten. Kosovare Asllani nets one for Sweden. Look at the relief on their faces! This was important for the women in yellow. Chile looks dejected. The team really slogged to keep Sweden on its toes. Can Chile equalise?

73' Welcome back. 18.5 minutes of play left here in Rennes. We hope there isn't a break in momentum here. Chile 0 - 0 Sweden. 40 minute rain delay, that was!

UPDATE : Match to restart in 10 minutes. We will have an end to this game! Crowds are up cheering the women in yellow as they make their way out of the dressing room.

There have been lightning strikes reported in the area, and it looks like we will be in for quite the lengthy delay.

Defending champion USA takes on Thailand in an hour. You will definitely want to stick around for that one. The US Women's National Team will look to continue dominate this time around too. Read all about it here .

No word from FIFA yet. Keep watching this space for updates.

Like us, if you too were getting into the groove of things, don't lose heart. We still have no word from the game but we have another cracker of a game coming up with defending champion USA taking on Thailand in their opening game of the tournament.

For those wondering, the players are allowed to warm up and change into dry kits during the break. Both coaches will also now have the chance to speak to their players and devise a way to find the nets.

Spectators have cautiously moved a few rows up to escape the worst of the rain but they also have their smartphones out, waving to the music being played at the Stade de la Route de Lorient. You can dampen the field, but not their spirits!

Break in play now for safety reasons . We spoke too soon. High-five, Bristol!

We had drums and trumpets in the New Zealand vs Netherlands game but if you're hearing something similar, that's thunder. Lightning and thunder in Renne now.

67' Eriksson slides into Lopez, catches the latter with her studs, and the referee awards the first yellow card of the match. Lopez in considerable pain.

Sweden knows who to target this time, marking Endler carefully. The frustrating 0-0 score line still stands strong though.

58' COLLISION. That looks painful. Chilean forward María Urrutia is down. She is screaming in pain. She has been taken off on a stretcher. Yessenia Lopez comes in to take her place.

Pouring rain at Rennes now. One of the best things about football is that play still goes on. Not too far away, another game in the ICC Cricket World Cup was washed out thanks to unforgiving British weather. Read all about it here: Three rained out matches in a week, the most in single edition of tourney

HT:Chile 0 - 0 Sweden

Chile will be happy with what it's managed to do in the first half here. Sweden pushing for that opener. It's a battle of the nerves more than anything else at this stage. Under a minute left before haltime.

41' Chile gets their first shot of the day off the right-foot of Urrutia, but it's well wide of the target and never troubled Lindahl.

39' The impatience is coming through in Sweden's on-field tactics now. Can it score before halftime? Chile should be proud of the score line. We wonder what the halftime pep-talks will sound like in a few minutes.

25' SAVE! Endler scrambled and somehow managed to get a hand to a ball that was about to cross the line! Endler parried Fischer's effort before it crossed the line. Incredible stuff!

Swedish captain Caroline Seger has been brilliant, with 22 passes already to her name. 14 of those have come in Chile's half.

17' Asllani and Saez are both down after colliding in the air, and both will be looked at by the medical staff.

As much as Sweden has monopolised possession, Christiane Endler hasn't had much to do at the other end of the field.

CHILE: Road to France : Chile qualified for the FIFAWWC '19 after a brilliant 4-0 victory over Argentina. The win secured second place for the ladies in last year's Copa America Femenina, behind Brazil.

This was the first time Chile was hosting anything, a historic opportunity completed in the best of ways.

Chile is trying and trying hard. There are passes aplenty but Sweden manages to get back possession each time. The veterans are making it look easy.

5' A seemingly unapologetic Toro accidentally whacks Asllani in the calf. Foul given. Toro will want to be cautious.

3' An early opportunity for Sweden after a curling ball was sent into the box to a streaking Jakobsson, but Toro did well to get there first knock it behind for a corner.

0' KICKOFF.

A dominant display by Sweden, or a historic upset by newbies Chile? What do you reckon we will be looking at when the final whistle blows? A minute away from kickoff.

If you missed the first match of the day between New Zealand and Netherlands, we've got you covered. A late goal from outgoing Bayern star Jill Roord secured 3 points for the Dutch women as they beat New Zealand 1-0 in Le Havre on Tuesday. Match report
