Qatar becomes first host nation to lose all three FIFA World Cup group stage matches

The Arab nation lost to Ecuador, Senegal and Netherlands and finished with zero points in Group A.

Qatar became the first host nation to lose all its three group stage matches in a FIFA World Cup after its 0-2 defeat to Neherlands on Tuesday.

The Arab nation lost to Ecuador, Senegal and Netherlands and finished with zero points in Group A.

Qatar was making its World Cup debut with this edition after it won the bid to host the tournament back in 2010.

South Africa was the other host nation from 2010 to get knocked out in the group stages.
