Of all the four title-contenders in the I-League, Mohun Bagan's coach believes his team has the toughest task.
“We have to face a very tough side in Gokulam Kerala FC in an away match; that too in extreme hot weather,” Sankarlal Chakraborty said on Wednesday. “We will try to win.”
He does not think it would be easy, though. Bagan was beaten by Gokulam at home.
“Gokulam has impressed me as a team; their foreign players look good,” he said. “And their young Indian players seem promising. After beating us, they went on to beat East Bengal and Minerva Punjab in successive matches.”
Chakraborty said he was hoping for good support from Bagan at the Corporation Stadium here on Thursday. “Some fans travel along with the team,” he said. “And I am also expecting some Bengalis, who are working here in Kerala, to turn up to support us.”
His counterpart Bino George too is hoping for fans to cheer his players on. “Many of the people who fill up the ground in Kochi for Kerala Blasters' games are from Malabar; I think they should come to the ground to support the young Kerala players of Gokulam,” he said. “The fans could become our 12th man, too.”

About the match against Bagan, he said the team would go all out for a win. “Our aim has always been to finish inside top six and thus qualify for the Super Cup,” he said. “Ours is a young side and we are learning from each match that we play.”
