Robin Singh has been in fine form for East Bengal.

Striker Robin Singh promised to work hard upon his return to the national camp. He joined the India probables for a training session on Monday at the Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri, after almost a year out due to knee injury. “I’m happy to be wearing India colours, happy to be back.” he said. The team is training in preparation for the AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualification games later this month.

He confirmed that India chief coach Stephen Constantine was in touch with him about his recovery and assured that his approach will remain positive. “I never feel pressure. I play football with happiness and make sure fans coming for matches feel the same,” said the striker, displaying return to fitness and form with East Bengal in I-League 2017.

Robin wil face competition in getting a striking role in the squad for the AFC event, with established names like Sunil Chhetri and new faces like Sumeet Passi in the reckoning. “I still love the game like I played on the first day. That is my dedication. I will let people decide about how much I have improved,” he said, during an interaction at the Mumbai Football Arena.
