ISL: Hugo Boumous signs three-year contract with FC Goa

The midfielder will play for the Gaurs till 2022.

Hugo Boumous, the midfielder, has signed a new three-year contract with FC Goa. Boumous thus becomes the first foreign player to sign a three-year deal in the Indian Super League (ISL).

Boumous joined the club in January, 2018, and since then has excelled for his team. In the 2017-18 season, he accounted for two goals and two assists as FC Goa reached the playoffs. In the 2018 Super Cup, he was the top-scorer for the side as it reached the semifinals.

In the 2018-19 season, Boumous scored three goals and accounted for five assists. FC Goa finished as the runner-up. In the Super Cup, he played a big role in his club's title win.

'Happy'

Commenting on the new contract, Boumous said, “Staying at FC Goa was always my first priority and now I can say that I am happy to have signed a new contract that will keep me here for some time to come. This helps me buckle down and focus on what is important. I would like to thank the club for having the faith in me and the fans for always having our backs. I am confident that we will continue to have success in the years to come.”
