Kerala Blasters announced the signing of midfielder Darren Caldeira on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old player joins the Kerala-based club for the upcoming season of Indian Super League (ISL) from I-League side Mohun Bagan.
Caldeira started his career with Mahindra United where he spent a year with the Spanish La Liga side Valencia CF on a one-year visit to train with the under-18 players.
The former Bengaluru FC player, who was a part of the Blues’ maiden I-League-winning campaign in 2013, has also played for Air India FC, Mumbai FC, ATK and Chennai City FC before joining the Kolkata giant.
"I'm delighted to be wearing yellow this season. It is a great time to be part of a club that has a clear set of objectives they wish to achieve with an accomplished coach and a new set of players," he said.
Speaking of the new signing, head coach Eelco Schattorie said, "Darren (Caldeira) is a very consistent and stable player who can play all over the midfield. His experience with several ISL and I-league clubs will surely be an asset to the team. Moreover, he has proven to be a team-player with a great attitude."
