FIFA unveils emblem for Confederations Cup 2017

With the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 in Russia just 500 days away, the sport’s governing body has unveiled the official emblem for the tournament, which is often referred to as the "Festival of Champions".

With the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 in Russia just 500 days away, the sport’s governing body has unveiled the official emblem for the tournament, which is often referred to as the “Festival of Champions”.

For the first time, the emblem has been inspired by the tournament’s coveted trophy, representing the dream of the eight competing teams to hold it aloft in Russia next year.

From June 17 to July 2 2017, the six continental champions will join the Russian hosts and the 2014 FIFA World Cup winners Germany for this star-studded tournament.

The FIFA Confederations Cup will take place in Russia for the first time, with the host country and Copa América champions Chile making their debuts in the competition. Australia and Mexico, who won the tournament in 1999, have both already qualified.
