Tiger Woods met a promising teenager named after him and Jim Furyk knocked the lid off the Ryder Cup at Le Golf National as the excitement continued to build on Wednesday ahead of the prestigious event.

Star-struck 16-year-old Englishman Robin Tiger Williams, who played in a Junior Ryder Cup which the USA won on Tuesday, was left "a bit shaky" after Woods had a chat with him on the course on the outskirts of Paris.

Captain Furyk reacted quickly when the top of the famous trophy came off as he sat down for a team photo two days before his side start their bid to win back-to-back Ryder Cups.
