After making a slow start to the defence of his Masters crown on Thursday, things got even worse for Danny Willett at the beginning of his second round.

Willett had recovered from a double bogey on the first to finish one over par at the end of day one, eight adrift of runaway leader Charley Hoffman.

But hole one once again proved the Englishman's nemesis, forcing him into a quadruple bogey that sent him tumbling down the leaderboard.

Willett got to within 21 yards in two but required six more shots to emerge from a nightmare opener with his Masters hopes severely dented.
