Indian Super League club FC Pune City has parted ways with head coach Miguel Angel Portugal. The club has appointed Technical Director Pradyum Reddy as the interim coach.
The move comes after the club has just played three games in the 2018-19 season.
The 62-year-old led Delhi Dynamos to an eighth-place finish last season. Portugal was the head coach of Real Madrid Castilla in the past.
Pune City has managed just one point from its three games.
Portugal took over from Ranko Popovic, who guided FC Pune City to the playoffs last season.
According to sources, Portugal failed to instil any belief in Pune City management.
Interim coach Reddy has a lot of experience under his belt. He is the former coach of Shillong Lajong FC, leading it to a 10th place finish in the 2011-12 season.
Reddy then joined Bengaluru FC in 2013 and served as an assistant coach under Ashley Westwood for three seasons. During this period, Bengaluru FC went on to win the league twice and the Federation Cup once.
