PKL 2018: Bengal Warriors beats Tamil Thalaivas 27-24

Bengal Warriors held its nerve to overcome Tamil Thalaivas 27-24 in its first home match of season 6 of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Maninder Singh was not at his best, but Jang Kun Lee's Super 10 helped Bengal Warriors beat Tamil Thalaivas.

Bengal Warriors outlasted a spirited challenge from Tamil Thalaivas to win by a close 27-24 margin in the Zone B clash of the Pro Kabaddi League at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata on Friday. South Korean raider Jang Kun Lee proved his worth, fetching the highest 10 points in the host's attacks. He proved difficult for the Thalaivas defenders as he raided deep in the opposition territory and was successful in most of the 18 raids he made.

Ran Singh was the best Bengal defender succeeding in four of the five tackles attempted. Lee also collected two points from a super tackle to take his match tally to 12.

Read: Telugu Titans crashes out of playoff race Thalaivas enjoyed lead early in the action when raider Sukesh Hegde picked up four points from a 'super' raid to take it 7-4 ahead. But the visitor made defensive error within minutes as Lee neutralised the lead for Warriors to make it 7-7.

Thalaivas regained the advantage to lead 15-12, but Lee's super tackle towards the end of first half saw Warriors drawing level (15-15) by half time. After the break Bengal started picking up crucial points in both attack and defence and maintained the lead till the end.
