CWG Shooting: Looking to better Glasgow performance
In the 2018 Commonwealth Games, there will be 17 gold medals up for grabs in shooting - nine for men and eight for women.

Jaspal Rana is the most successful Indian shooter in the Commonwealth Games history with 15 medals, including 10 gold, spread over four editions (1994-2006). Samaresh Jung is a close second with 14 medals, including seven gold, while Gagan Narang has 10, including eight gold. Anjali Bhagwat won four gold medals in the 2002 edition in Manchester.

In the 2018 Commonwealth Games, there will be 17 gold medals up for grabs in shooting — nine for men (three events each in rifle, pistol and shotgun) and eight for women (three events in rifle, two in pistol and three in shotgun).
Medal prospect: India will look to win more than the four gold medals it had claimed in the last edition through Abhinav Bindra, Apurvi Chandela, Rahi Sarnobat and Jitu Rai. After the 2010 Games in Delhi, the pair events had been removed from the schedule, and thus a dramatic fall in India’s haul. Among the 27 Indian shooters, Heena Sidhu, Manu Bhaker, Apurvi Chandela, Anjum Moudgil, Om Prakash Mitharwal, Jitu Rai, Anish Bhanwala, Ravi Kumar, Deepak Kumar and Ankur Mittal are gold medal prospects. Of course, one cannot rule out the chances of other shooters of proven calibre like Gagan Narang, Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Chain Singh winning the gold.
