Sitting pretty: Raghul will look to consolidate his position at the top.

Defending champion Raghul Rangasamy from Chennai will aim to dominate when the penultimate round of the 22nd JK Tyre FMSCI National racing championship gets underway at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam here on Saturday.

Raghul struggled a bit on the opening day in the last round held at the same venue. But the MSport driver, with 47 points, came back with a bang the next day to finish second and further went on to win the final race for a place atop the leaderboard in the FLGB4 category.

And, he wants to be right up there this time as well. But, his city-mate, Vishnu Prasad, is expected to make life tough for him. He has seen many such challenges and will look to make amends after an eventful round that saw him surrender the top slot to Raghul.

Dark Don’s Diljith is another gritty customer who can well spring a surprise or two. The Kerala star knows that two good races over the weekend can tilt the balance in his favour.

Mumbai’s Aaroh Ravindra of Momentum Motorsports is the driver in command in the JK Tyre Novice Cup. But it’s going to be a battle between Syed Muzamil Ali (Bengaluru) and Tanay Gaikwad (Pune) in the JK Tyre Suzuki Gixxer Cup.
