Aditi Ashok: First Indian to participate in LPGA Tour

Aditi Ashok, who is the first Indian woman to win a Ladies European Tour, will feature in the prestigious ISPS Handa Australian Women’s Open 2017, which will be held from February 16 to 19 in South Australia.

Aditi Ashok scripted the history last year when she clinched the Hero Women's Indian Open.

Indian teen golfing sensation Aditi Ashok, who is the first Indian woman to win a Ladies European Tour, will feature in the prestigious ISPS Handa Australian Women’s Open 2017, which will be held from February 16 to 19 at 146-year-old Royal Adelaide Golf Club in South Australia. This will be Aditi's first foray in the Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour.

This edition will be a stepping stone for the 18-year-old Bengaluru girl who scripted history last year when she clinched the Hero Women's Indian Open.

The tournament will also feature world No. 1 Lydia Ko of New Zealand, world No. 2 Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand and defending champion Haru Nomura of Japan, who will face 141 players for the top honour.

This golf tournament is considered as one of the richest ladies golf tournament and the 2017 edition will have USD 1.3 million as prize money.
