As promised in August last year, broadcaster Star Sports on Thursday officially announced that Pro Kabaddi League would be held twice in 2016.

After tasting success in 2014 and 2015, the league's third season will commence on January 30 at Vizag and culminate in Delhi on March 5.

The year's second five-week event is slated to start in June.

The franchise has attracted 26 overseas players from 11 countries – out of 138 players – to build on the gains from the first two seasons.

On Thursday, the International Kabaddi Federation President Janardan Singh Gehlot, along with the owner of the Jaipur franchisee, actor Abhishek Bachchan were among those who hailed the “grand success” of the league so far.
