India bags two gold medals

India registered a 1-2 finish in the women's 30 km race and the men's 40km race to complete a successful day in cycling.

India's Bidyalaxmi Tourangbam (left ) and Chaoba Devi Elangbam won the gold and silver medals respectively in the women's 30 km cycling.

India picked up two gold medals in cycling as Bidyaluxmi Touranbam took the top spot in the women’s 30 km distance race. Chaoba Devi Elangbam took the silver.

The men’s 40 km race also saw a one-two finish by India as Arvind Panwar took the gold while Manjeet Singh finished second. In squash, top seed Saurav Ghosal and Joshna Chinappa won their quarterfinal matches easily in the men’s and women’s individual events to keep India’s gold hopes alive.

Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu was the other Indian to make it to the men’s semifinals.
