England’s junior coach Chris Ryder will train the Indian Squash Academy’s players.

As part of an initiative to give its players the best of opportunity to learn, Tamil Nadu Squash Rackets Association (TNSRA) has invited England’s junior coach Chris Ryder to train the Indian Squash Academy’s players at the ISA premises, Nehru Park, from September 25 to October 8.

The camp is aimed at fine-tuning the players’ skills prior to the National junior/sub-junior championships to be held in Chennai from October 16 to 22. Apart from the ISA players, two promising talents from Salem — Dharshal and Akash — will also participate.

Considered one of the finest coaches in the junior category, the 38-year-old, once ranked 33 in the PSA rankings, had guided the country’s best juniors at two-week camp at Greater Noida in June this year.

“He is very good with the juniors. He understands the game and his error-correction skills are very good. And moreover, he is a pleasant guy,” a TNSRA official told Sportstar on Wednesday.

Ryder will provide intense on-court training, both in the mornings and evenings. In fact, the ISA players had gone on a two-week camp to Penang (Malaysia) in May this year. Ryder had come as England coach at World juniors in July last year.
