Indian Open Surfing third edition to be held at Panambur Beach from May 27-29

The Mantra Surf Club will host the three-day competition at Panambur Beach in Mangalore, Karnataka.

The three-day surfing competition will see participation from all the top surfers of India as per their rankings and will be a part of the Karnataka Surfing Festival.

The Surfing Federation of India (SFI) on Thursday announced the third edition of the Indian Open Surfing will be held from May 27 to May 29 at Panambur Beach in Mangalore, Karnataka.

The Mantra Surf Club will host the three-day competition, which will see the country's top surfers in action. The event will be a part of the Karnataka Surfing Festival.

 

The competition will have three categories: men, women and groms (U 16).

Arun Vasu, president of the federation, said, “Our objective is to make surfing massive in India. Events such as the Indian Open will be a huge boost towards achieving this objective, as well as cater to the needs of promoting adventure tourism in the state and the country."

Mangalore has been the hub for surfers in India on the west coast and has hosted the Indian Open since its inception in 2016.
