Pankaj Advani made a spectacular comeback to beat Pakistan’s Asjad Iqbal and enter the final of the 35th Asian men’s snooker championship on Thursday.
Down 4-0 in the best-of-nine semifinal, the Indian cueist swept the next five frames to set up a summit clash with Thailand’s Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon, who had the measure of Iqbal’s compatriot Babar Masih 5-2.
Earlier in the day, Advani had pipped compatriot Aditya Mehta 5-4 in the quarterfinals.
