Top cueists for Kolkata Open snooker

Sixteen-time World champion cueist Pankaj Advani will be the biggest attraction in a field of top players in the third Kolkata Open invitation snooker championship, starting at the Bengal Rowing Club here from Tuesday.

The players will be divided into six groups of four players each and the top 16 will qualify for the knock-out stage. A pro-am competition will also be held alongside the main event.

Sixteen-time World champion cueist Pankaj Advani will be the biggest attraction in a field of top players in the third Kolkata Open invitation snooker championship, starting at the Bengal Rowing Club here from Tuesday.

Current National champion Aditya Mehta, Manan Chandra, Alok Kumar, Kamal Chawla and Dharminder Lilly are among the big names who will be seen in action in the six-day event.

Some local cueists, including Arjuna award winner Sourav Kothari and Asian Games silver medallist Brijesh Damani, will add value to the competition.
