Anjum Moudgil who had earlier won the air rifle silver had a series of 102.2, 103.0, 102.1, 103.9, 103.5, 102.0 for a total of 616.7.

Anjum Moudgil won the women’s rifle prone bronze in the Commonwealth Shooting Championship in Brisbane on Saturday.

With Jennifer Mcintosh and Seonaid Mcintosh of Scotland running away with the gold and silver respectively with a good margin, Anjum slipped to the bronze owing to a slow start and an equally tough finish in the 60-shot match.

Anjum who had earlier won the air rifle silver had a series of 102.2, 103.0, 102.1, 103.9, 103.5, 102.0 for a total of 616.7, the same as Sally Johnston of New Zealand. Anjum finished ahead of the Kiwi because of a better last card.

Kuheli Gangulee and the former World Champion in the event, Tejjaswini Sawant, placed fifth and ninth respectively.

There was no final as it was not an Olympic event. The Indian medal tally reached 16, with five gold and five bronze, so far.
