Dilreen Gill wins 10m air rifle final

Dilreen Gill of Punjab shot 205.7 in the final and beat Anjum Moudgil of Haryana by 1.1 point in women’s air rifle in the shooting National selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Wednesday. In men’s 50-metre rifle prone, Swapnil Kusale beat Sushil Ghaley by 0.3 point.

Dilreen Gill of Punjab shot 205.7 in the final and beat Anjum Moudgil of Haryana by 1.1 point in women’s air rifle in the shooting National selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Wednesday.

Dilreen had placed second in qualification with a total of 417.0. Anjum had an 8.3 on the last shot of the final in losing her grip over the first position.

Shriyanka Sadangi was placed third ahead of national championship silver medallist Geetakshi Dixit while former world record holder and Olympic finalist Suma Shirur was sixth behind Aayushi Gupta.

Kusale shines

In men’s 50-metre rifle prone, Swapnil Kusale beat Sushil Ghaley by 0.3 point. In men’s standard pistol, Neeraj Kumar beat Olympic silver medallist Vijay Kumar by three points for the top spot.

Men: 50m rifle prone: 1. Swapnil Kusale 207.2 (619.5); 2. Sushil Ghaley 206.9 (620.6); 3. Deepak Kummar 183.7 (617.2).

25m standard pistol: 1. Neeraj KKumar 573; 2. Vijay Kumar 570; 3. Karan Walia 566.

Women: 10m air rifle : 1. Dilreen Gill 206.7 (417.0); 2. Anjum Moudgil 205.6 (415.8); 3. Shriyanka Sadangi 184.2 (414.8).
