Man Singh leads at National Shotgun C’ship

Former Asian champion Man Singh led on 49, along with Arozepal Sandhu and the young Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, in men’s skeet in the 61st National shotgun championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad on Thursday.

Former Asian champion Man Singh led on 49, along with Arozepal Sandhu and the young Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, in men’s skeet in the 61st National shotgun championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad on Thursday.

The trio was followed by five others, including Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Sheeraz Sheikh, on 48, after two rounds. The men will shoot for two more days with the top six reaching the final after five rounds in the qualification phase.

In women’s skeet, in which only one round was shot this day, Karitki Singh Shaktawat and Maheshwari Chauhan led with 24, and were followed by Parinaaz Dhaliwal on 23. Former champion Saniya Sheikh, Ganeemat Sekhon and Agees Chhina were on 22, while the defending champion Rashmmi Rathore stumbled to a bad start with a round of 19.

The women will shoot two more rounds followed by the final on Friday. Among the junior men, Ayush Rudraraju led with 48, one point ahead of Anantjeet Singh Naruka, while Prabhbir Mann and Arjun Singh Mann followed with 46.
