National champion Anish Bhanwala continued to assert his hold over rapid fire pistol as he topped in both the matches in the shooting National selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh range, Tughlakabad, on Sunday.
More than winning the matches, Anish did well to top qualification with identical scores of 583, which should make it a smooth selection for him in the forthcoming international competitions. Anish beat Anhad Jawanda by four points to win the second trial, after having beaten Neeraj Kumar by six points to win the first. Olympian Gurpreet Singh had placed third in the first trial ahead of Rushiraj Atul Barot and Olympic silver medallist Vijay Kumar.
